MP Johnson is a lady first and trans second. No, actually, she is a lady first and a writer second, and trans… Wait, no, she’s a lady first, a daughter and sister and aunt second. Writer is definitely in the top five, and trans is probably somewhere a little lower than that, just above cereal connoisseur. It’s part of her, but probably doesn’t define her as much as other people want to use it as her defining trait. Oh, and about the writer thing: She’s the Wonderland Book Award-winning author of Dungeons & Drag Queens, Berzerkoids, Nails and many other books. Her short fiction has appeared in The Dark, Dark Discoveries, Year’s Best Hardcore Horror and many other publications. She has created a variety of zines, including fifteen issues of Freak Tension. She is the founder of Weirdpunk books, a press devoted to merging punk rock and genre fiction. Learn more at www.freaktension.com.

R. J. Joseph is a Texas based writer and professor who must exorcise the demons of her imagination so they don't haunt her being. A life-long horror fan and writer of many things, she has recently discovered the joys of writing in the academic arena about two important aspects of her life: horror and black femininity.
When R. J. isn't writing, teaching, or reading voraciously, she can usually be found wrangling one or five of various sprouts and sproutlings from her blended family of 11...which also includes one husband and two furry babies.
R. J. can be found lurking (and occasionally even peeking out) on social media:
