Meet the contributors: Jennifer Manalili
JENNIFER MANALILI is a Filipino student and aspiring writer from San Diego. The only child of Asian immigrants, Jennifer tries to incorporate both cultures into her writing. She is a Journalism Association of Community Colleges award winning writer, as well as a 1st place San Diego Society of Professional Journalists winning columnist. Currently, she is a co-host on the forthcoming podcast None of the Above, a collaboration between So Say We All and Voice of San Diego.
Her fiction and poetry has previously been published in City Works Press, Black Candies: Gross and Unlikeable, and internationally in Fan Club Notts. In 2017, she was nominated for a PEN America/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers for her horror story Hunger. She is passionate about science fiction and horror, feminism and body positive activism, as well as writing in hopes of helping to break the stigma that surrounds mental illness - particularly in Asian communities.
