Nasty! Vol. 2 open call for submissions
Open Call for Submissions:
Nasty! Vol. 2
June 1st-June 30th, 2018.
All submissions received by end of June will receive a response by August 14th, 2018.
Nasty! Vol. 2 is seeking radical non-fiction essays that provide crucial commentary on what it’s like to be a woman or non-binary person today. We are looking for essays that are fierce in tone and bold in their proclamations. We want stories only you can tell. The idea is to present a multitude of experiences in a raw and accessible manner. We want this book to empower, educate, and inspire the general population, reaching out to those who may have experienced something similar, and to raise awareness and build stronger allyships.
We are looking for essays in the 2500 to 5000 word range (though longer--and shorter--essays will definitely be considered). Payment is five cents per word for original work. Multiple submissions are welcomed as long as they are consistent with the theme of the anthology. We are not interested in fiction, poetry, or works that are also being considered for publication elsewhere.
Partial-proceeds (50%) of this work will go to benefit SMYRC - Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center in Portland, Oregon. You can read more about them here: http://www.smyrc.org/
